Business glass here has a different problem each season. In summer a storefront takes the afternoon sun full on; in winter the low sun crosses desks and screens for hours; and plenty of older buildings have no cooling to fall back on when a heat wave comes.
One film can deal with all three: it lowers the heat coming through the glass, brings glare down to something people can work in, and blocks UV, so stock, signs, floors and furniture stop fading. Security film is a different product with a different job: it is thicker, and it holds a broken pane together.

Sun through a shop window bleaches stock, signs and fixtures, and it does it on cloudy days as well as clear ones. Film that blocks UV helps keep the display the color it was when you set it up.
From late fall through winter the sun sits low all day and shines straight across desks and monitors. Glare-control film keeps the room bright and makes the screens readable again.
On a ground-floor door or window, security film holds the glass together when it breaks, which slows a break-in and keeps the pieces in the frame.

Film dries clear over 2–4 weeks, longer in cool, damp months. Don't clean it for 30 days.
