A clear urethane layer over the panels that face the road: bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors and headlights. Kits run from a partial front to the whole car.
PPF is a transparent urethane sheet that sits on top of the paint. Think of it as a surface you can afford to lose: grit, gravel and bug splatter hit the film instead of the clear coat, and the chip that would have reached the primer never happens. A hard enough strike can still dent the metal underneath; film protects the paint, not the panel.
The damage is not spread evenly around a car. Nearly all of it lands on the front: the bumper, the leading edge of the hood, the fenders and the mirror caps. That is where a front kit goes, and it is the coverage worth looking at first for a car that spends its life on the freeway.
Rain, road grit, pollen and the odd heat wave. Here is what each of them means for this service.
Snoqualmie and Stevens Pass are sanded all winter, and a weekend in the mountains means hours behind trucks and plows on a gritty road. The film takes those hits so the paint does not.
Street parking and crowded lots mean doors opening into doors. Film on the door edges and under the handles stops the small chips and fingernail scratches that collect there.
Summer road trips leave bug splatter across the bumper and mirrors, and on a hot day it etches clear coat quickly. On film it sits on the top layer and washes off.
Kit prices below come from the shop's price list and rise with vehicle size; your proposal shows the figure for your car.
from $1,400
Covers the leading edges that take the most damage.
from $2,250
Full hood and fenders with no seam line.
from $2,750
Full front plus the panels that get sandblasted on gravel and winter roads.
from $7,800
Every painted surface, plus headlights and fog lights. Gloss, matte or color.
Decontamination wash, clay and a light polish so nothing is sealed under the film.
Film cut on a plotter to your exact year and model; custom patterns when we need to wrap an edge.
Film floated into place, squeegeed and edges tucked — 1 to 2 days in the shop for a full front.
No washing for 7 days. After that, hand wash and enjoy the self-healing top coat.
Winter roads here carry sand, gravel and studded-tire grit, and liquid de-icer gets into every chip it finds. PPF keeps the factory paint under film, which is what a buyer pays for at resale.
I had my Tacoma TRD Off-Road in for window tint, ceramic coating, and full front PPF, and the results are spectacular. The tint is even and dark with no bubbling, and the PPF fitment around the bumper, hood, and mirrors is precise with zero lifting edges or wrinkles. Hard to even tell it's there until the light hits it right. …

My experience with Midnight Tint was quick and efficient. This was my first experience tinting a car and Midnight made it very quick and easy for me. Their front desk person let me sit in a few cars with different tint levels, and that was very helpful for me. I don’t have a fancy car, but I felt like Midnight treated me well. I’ll definitely return if I ever need a touch up. :)
